Chrome Dev OS 20 update offers support for Bluetooth mice and keyboards

Google Chrome has been just updated for Chromebooks in the dev channel, along with the latest update of Chrome OS. The dev channel has been updated to 20.0.1132.1, Platform versions: 2268.0.0 for Chrome, Windows, Mac and Linux. This version contains the update of several corrections .

The latest update has a now support for Bluetooth keyboards and mice for Acer Chromebook but not for Apple’s Magic Mouse or for the Magic Track-pad.

This build contains a number of new features, as well as security & stability improvements. Some highlights of these changes are:

  • Bluetooth support for keyboards and mice on Acer Chromebooks. Currently Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad are currently unsupported.
  • New PKCS #11 library (Chaps) to provide TPM-backed cryptographic services
  • Improvements to Enterprise Network configuration

Luckily, Chrome 20 is available for users of CR-48, unlike Chrome 19 and brings the benefit of the new desktop Aura. Still there are some issues that are already known:

Known issues are:

  • 126079: Problem switching between tabs – new tab goes blank. Workaround: Reload page
  • 126794: Facebook.com photo uploading and Yahoo mail attachment fails
  • 126843: Flash fails to record audio
  • 126338: CWS apps/themes categories do not expand/collapse properly (UI issue)

Sometimes the change to a new tab will present a blank. To solve the problem, simply reload the page. Facebook photo uploads, as well as Yahoo mail attachments apparently are not working. In addition, Flash Player does not record audio. These are current bugs to be fixed.
